TABLE-India adds 18.8 mln mobile users in February

March 29 (Reuters) - Mobile firms in India added 18.76
million subscribers in February, taking total users in the
world's fastest-growing, and second-largest, wireless market to
563.73 million, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India said.
In January, the firms had added a record 19.9 million
users. Mobile subscribers grew at a monthly average of nearly
15 million in 2009.
Following are the additions by mobile operators and their
total subscriber base.

Note: Wireless tele-density, or mobile connections per every
100 people, was at 47.91 at the end of February, the regulator
said.
Fixed-line subscriber base declined to 36.96 million in
February from 36.99 million in January, the regulator said.
Including fixed-line phones, India had 600.69 million phones at
the end of February, or a total tele-density of 51.05.
